Fitness Progress and Faith Rooting

I have been on a health journey for almost a year after getting less than ideal bloodwork back from my doctor and I’ve been on a faith journey that spans many more years than that. Over those years, my health was never really part of my faith journey and my faith was never a part of my health journey. After getting the wake up call from my doctor, I realized that I needed a major change. I knew that I would need a community to be able to sustain changes in my discipline where fitness is concerned. First, I started going to the gym. Then, I reached out to a friend (shout out to Lucy!) who has always been there for me and is a pro at helping me be accountable. After that, we found Trinity Fitness and decided that it was time to try something new and surround ourselves with a community! Because of these changes, I have been able to lose 36 lbs this year and I have gained so much more. I have gained muscle (can do 12 sit ups now!), confidence, grit, and most importantly a community of strong believers to do life and fitness with. I can’t express how grateful I am for Trinity Fitness Carlisle!

Influence Beyond the Gym

Trinity Fitness Carlisle started a Saturday morning men’s Bible study at the gym, aptly named Hot Coffee Conversations. I had been looking for a Bible study to get plugged in with for a while, and this was an easy sell since I already felt a sense of community with the guys. We are a few months in, and I can already see how it’s been used by God. It’s reached beyond the gym, pulling in some from our local community.

Our reading through and applying Scripture is great, but for me, the biggest benefit has been sharing our concerns and praying with one another. Each week after, we’ll update to see how God is working through those situations. The same way the trainers motivate me to work through a battle, I’m getting the same spiritual motivation to be the best father, husband, and friend I can be.

All the love in the world to the Trinity Fitness family and those who volunteer their time to build community!

Increased Physical Freedom

“Over the past few years, I have struggled with my physical health, which made it difficult to enjoy the outdoor activities my family and I love, such as hunting, fishing, and hiking. Every October, we go salmon fishing, which involves walking through the river and climbing steep banks and rocks. Last year, these challenges made the trip exhausting and discouraging. This year, however, after dedicating time to training at Trinity Fitness, I have seen a remarkable improvement in my strength and balance. The progress I’ve made has allowed me to move more confidently and fully enjoy salmon fishing again. “Built Not Broken” is the anthem that is painted on the wall at Trinity Fitness. This speaks volumes to me physically and spiritually. My goal at this point in life is to function and enjoy what God has blessed me with. I thank God often (daily really) for the opportunity to move my body at Trinity Fitness and to share spiritual growth with the community as well.”
